Dr. Oscar Moreno is a chemical engineer with 40+ years experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. He has been involved in the design, construction, and commissioning of commercial facilities to extract lithium from "salar" brines and to manufacture high-quality phosphoric acid. His manufacturing experience includes troubleshooting chemical processes, project management, engineering and technology transfer, chemical plant operations, process design and scale-up, process optimization, and pilot-plant simulation. Dr. Moreno has worked in the production of ethylene glycols, ethylene amines, phosphate fertilizers, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, fire retardants, functional fluids, elemental phosphorus, and lithium chloride. Dr. Moreno has written a large amount of internal technical documentation throughout his corporate career. He holds several patents covering the design of machinery to produce electronic packaging and glass for liquid crystal displays.
Dr. Moreno has worked for International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), Food Machinery and Chemicals (FMC) and Akzo Nobel Chemicals in the USA, and for Industrias Derivadas del Etileno, S.A. de C.V. (IDESA) and Fertilizantes Fosfatados Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V. (FFM) in México.
Dr. Moreno holds Ph.D. and M.S degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla in Mexico.
