Academically, Khaled is an associate professor of Chemical Engineering at Kuwait University. Khaled received his PhD in chemical engineering from Northwestern University specialized on applications of statistical mechanics on complex thermodynamic systems. He received his bachelor degree in chemical engineering from University of Toronto. He taught 26 different courses in general engineering, chemical engineering as well as management sciences. He received the best teaching award in Kuwait University (2009) and electronic courses award in 2006. Khaled has authored or co-authored more than 65 journals articles, chapters, conference papers and books in different fields. His primary interest is the study of complex systems with emphasis on networks at the fundamental research level , process modelling and optimization from the applied side of engineering. Khaled and Prof. Safar founded the first research group to study complex networks in the Middle East, the group is known as SYNERGY.
Professionally, Khaled is a project management professional (PMP), PRINCE2 and a certified consulting engineer (CE) in research and training as well as a certified GCC expert and commercial arbitrator. He is a senior member of AIChE and associate member of IChemE besides membership is several professional societies, ISPI, SAVE, IAE, IADIS, KES, ACS and SPE. He served in several journal editorial and conferences organizing boards. Khaled serves as a professional consultant and trainer in project management, leadership and chemical engineering counting more than 90 training courses. He serves in several government and industrial committees; Khaled resided in several local and regional engineering firms’ board of directors mainly as chairman or vice chairman. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman and Director of FOCUS Consultancy Services.
