Dear Tsion and other interested parties,
CCPS, through AICHE Academy, has several courses on Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and that include LOPA. Descriptions and the links for the courses are provided below:
ELA 109 Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) is an 8-hour, intermediate level on-line course. The description is provided below:
This online course presents the Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) methodology used worldwide in the process industries for simplified, rule-based risk analysis. The course covers the basic LOPA approach to selecting and analyzing potential incident scenarios. You will learn the finer points of topics such as enabling conditions and conditional modifiers, and the logistical aspects of planning and executing a LOPA study including documentation and program management. You'll also gain CCPS guidance on initiating events, independent protection layers, enabling conditions and conditional modifiers - including the likelihood of ignition. The instructor is Bob Johnson, PE.

A FTF two-day advanced course taught by Bob Johnson. The first day of the course covers LOPA. An excerpt of the description is included here - Safety demands a deep knowledge and application of effective hazard analysis methods. In this highly interactive course, you'll have the opportunity to expand your basic understanding of process hazard analysis and learn how to extend order-of-magnitude scenario risk calculations to other uses. When you attend this course, you'll also receive the CCPS book Guidelines for Initiating Events and Independent Protection Layers in Layer of Protection Analysis.

Hello there,
I am interested in gaining knowledge to lead LOPA studies in the Oil & Gas and Power Generation Industries.
Does anybody have any experience in the field and can recommend any company that provide such training or relevant text books.
With many thanks.
