Use of agile methodologies in chemical engineering projects

    Hey, guys!

I'm a chemical engineering student at UFPR (Brazil) and I'm currently participating in a project that teaches courses to another chemical engineering's students about interesting subjects that we don't have in our curriculum.

This semester we're going to give a course about project management and I'm responsible to give a lecture about agile methodologies, more specifically about Scrum. So, I want to give a real example about the use of this methodology in chemical engineering projects. Do you know any kind of industry or project that uses this methodology?

I've heard that some industries use it in the development of new products, but I 'd like to know more examples.

Hello Lucas, how are you? I hope you're well and safe during these challenging times!

What an awesome project you are doing! It's incredible that there are students engaged in teaching other students impotant subjects we don't have in our major.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm 100% sure Ambev uses Scrum. They even did an awesome live on youtube about scrum at their Ambev Learning channel. If you want, you can check this live here: Ambev Learning: Scrum. It's good because this video is in portuguese, so I'm pretty sure it will help you a lot.

Also, I'm pretty sure Braskem uses agile methodologies as well. I've seen a really cool keynote at the 2020 Brazil Regional Conference talking about lean. I'd say they also use other methodologies, and I believe it's totally worth it contacting the one who did this keynote: his name is Murilo Souza, and you can check his LinkedIn profile here. I would recommend you messaging him and trying to connect with other people from Braskem so you can talk more about Scrum.

I believe these two companies are a great start, and I hope you're really successful in your project. Also, don't hesitate to message or email me if you have any other doubts or need any kind of help! I wish you the best.

    Best regards,

    Thank you, Bruno.
I've heard that Ambev is using Scrum in some projects, but I wasn't finding any material about that. This is going to help a lot.
If you want know more about this project the name is EPEQ - Escola Piloto de Engenharia Química. Our school was the first one in Brazil, but  now there is more than 20 pilot schools throughout the country.
    Here is the link: https://epequfpr.wixsite.com/epeq

Anyway, thank you again for your help.

    Best regards,
