I am a chemical engineering sophomore at RGIPT, India. I am interested to do projects in chemical engineering. Are such online platforms available for projects in chemical engineering?

Hello Pranjal! How are you? I hope you and your family are safe.

I'm not quite sure if we'd find some online platform for chemical engineering projects (like, let's say... Alura for computer sciences). But you could definetely search a subject that interests you and work in it.

The best example I can think of is mixing programming with chemical engineering. You could search a project online, maybe through GitHub, on a subject that you like, and try to come up with your own solution to the problem proposed. Remember that, in this case, you'll probably have an answer given by another person and, if you struggle too much, you could check both answer to find similarities and psosible mistakes.

Besides that, I believe you could apply knowledge that you learn in specific courses. Another good example is the SAChE program: let's say your learning security process with SAChE and you want to apply the knowledge learnt in some of the modules. You could search for chemical safety acidents (there's an excellent link here), choose one and come up with a reason to why it happened. Later, you go to the same site and check the official investigation report, and see how close you were from getting it right or totally right.

I hope I was able to feed you with a few ideas. I really like the second one, but I'd say I have a keen interest in the process safety and prevention loss area hehe. Wish you the best!

    Best regards,
