    I would like to know material of construction (MOC) guideline for the wet Electrostatic Participators, in the application of sulfuric acid mist environment, i.e Gas Cleaning Plant for the copper smelter off-gases.

    My recommendation is to used 316L SS material for this application.

    You are not supplying enough information for anyone to recommend the MOC for a Sulfuric Acid mist removal from a metallurgical plant.
    The corrosion rate of Sulfuric Acid on materials differs based on strength of the acid and other impurities such as SO2/ Sulfurous Acid.
    I work in the Sulfuric Acid industry and have many years of experience in a spent Sulfuric Acid plant.
    We have WESPs, one is an FRP body with Hastelloy C-22 internals and the other one that I oversaw the project for purchasing and installing was made of AL6XN.
    Though Alloy 20 is shown to be good for our application, it showed high corrosion in the original installation of the FRP unit.
    We performed corrosion testing with many metals that were installed in the gas streams at various points.
    AL6XN, 904L, and duplex SS (2205 & 2507) performed better than the Hastelloy C-22 that we have been using in that application for many years.
    316 SS would not be a good choice for a weak acid with Sulfurous Acid/ dissolved SO2 application.
    I would suggest you do some research and ultimately perform some corrosion testing in the actual application before making such a large purchase as a WESP.

    Dear Sir,
    I think the best material would be Polished Steel due to its resistability, but However you can try Checking, Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook. Perhaps you will find a clue, am sure
