Renewable energy sector is thriving with newer technologies are being introduced to improve the efficiency of power generation. One important aspect is it can generate huge amount of energy/power. For renewable energy to be viable in the long-term the excess power needs to be stored for later use, which requires a system with a large storage capacity, yet be miniaturized. Innovative approach to store the energy is key to the future of renewable energy.

Can we have some nature inspired technology that can store the energy efficiently and safely? Swarm intelligence is one such approach to harness the energy and use it more efficiently and economically. It is being used and optimized at various levels.

What other technologies can be developed by using nature's intelligence?

Hi, Professor Kale.  Can you say more about swarm intelligence and how it is being used to increase energy efficiency?  I found this paper:  "Swarm intelligence-based optimization of grid-dependent hybrid renewable energy systems" by Mohamed et al (2017) at https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1364032117305506 .  It looks really promising but it describes modeling of only one case study.  I'm curious if anyone is using that approach now and how it is working for them.
