    With today's diverse workforce, flat hierarchies, and open floor plans, office etiquette has become a minefield. What etiquette rules do you personally follow today? How are they different from years past?

    @Loraine Kasprzak This is a great question and one I hope more people can pay attention to. One that I try to observe is to be conscious of the fact that many meetings can't take place behind closed doors. I try to take that into account before I interrupt people. Also, I think keeping your phone on silent is critical in these days where robocalls come so frequently.

    Thanks John. I agree: keeping your phone on silent is critical. As is moving to an empty conference room or at least further away from the rest of your team when you have to take a private call. Others don't need to hear one argue with one's spouse!
