Hi guys, I think petroleum is a kind of coal tar by earth produced in deep underground coal pyrolysis。what do you think? so petroleum should have Infinite reserves in earth.

The carbon produced by human activities did not leave the earth, and the nature will eventually loop, but the human activities to accommodate this cycle. So the demand of human needs will lead to natural changes, but the development of technology will make people adapt to natural changes, so the human has a new feeling will lose the old feelings, human beings are Never-ending ,and also move back and forth.

    Hi,

The issue is with Kinetics. How fast we are using fossil fuel.... Much faster than the Kinetics of plants and trees which absorb Carbon.

If our usage kinetics of fossil carbon is slower than kinetics of carbon absorption by trees and plants, we have infinite energy, if not we have limited fossil/bio-energy.

    Hi, Han,

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "the earth body contain infinite carbon?"

Wouldn't mass & energy balance dictate there is a finite amount of carbon?  Even with the carbon cycle you and Pavan refer to in previous posts, the total amount of carbon should be finite.

Can you help me understand what you mean?

    Thanks!
    Andrew

The US has 325 years of proven remaining coal reserves.

Hmm...it took what, 2 billion years to deposit that coal?

It has been pointed out [where?] that under certain conditions, coral--->  calcium carbonate,  + heat, pressure and H2O ---> CH4 + lime water.  Some have even proposed that this is the predominant reaction in some hydrocarbon beds.
