Who is eligible: any AIChE member with at least one year of post-degree experience.

The Minority Affairs Committee is hosting a speed mentoring event for undergrads as part of the student conference. We are looking for individuals available to jump in as 'speed mentors' for the event on Sunday morning at 10 AM.  No preparation is required and you do not need to be a member of an under-represented group.  Just be willing to speak with small groups of students and answer their questions about what you do and how your career path has evolved.  We're expecting 100 eager undergraduates, including 12 students from our Foundation-supported Minority Serving Institutions Initiative.

If you are available on Sunday from 10-11:30 and you would like to join us, you can register your interest in volunteering
here (you will need to log in to volunteer - please use the link at the top right of the page). There is also a link on that page for you to nominate someone else if you know of another AIChE member who might enjoy participating in this event.

    Event Description:
This session will feature 2 short presentations by experienced chemical engineers who exemplify success along different career paths. This will be followed by an opportunity for students to speak informally with professional AIChE members representing a range of industries, career stages, and career paths. Students, come prepared with questions or use some of the conversation prompts we provide. Either way, this session will give you a chance to discover options for life after your degree by speaking with engineers who are currently living it!
