  • 1.  Easy restaurant suggestion from hotel

    Hi all,

I've never been to San Francisco before. Can anyone recommend any good restaurants in the area within walking distance of the hotel?

    Thanks so much!

Many good restaurants nearby but the city is very expensive. I do remember that there were a couple good 'diner like' restaurants close by. The concierge at the Hilton could help and will be able to give you good info on price range.

There is a wide variety of places to eat near the hotel. Inexpensive ones include McDonalds, but there are better inexpensive ones within minutes (blocks away). I like several of the Indian restaurants near the hotel - excellent food and reasonable costs especially for San Francisco. Chinatown is a bit of a walk, but I have walked it from the hotel. Uber or cab is better and take some friends to share the cost. Chinatown is a fun place to visit and there are a lot of restaurants there also.

    Hi Shelby,

There are lots of great restaurants near Union Square, with a range of prices and ambiances.  A few of my favorites are Tropisueno, E&O Kitchen, Burritt Room + Tavern, and Bluestem Brasserie.  All are within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.  There are also good restaurants in the Westfield Mall.

Hi Shelby, welcome to SF.  As has been pointed out, it is an expensive city, so recommendations would depend a lot on your taste and price range.  If you are into breakfasts, I'd recommend Sears (no connection to the department store).  Swedish pancakes and the works.  Its on Powell, 1/2 block from Union Square.  But connect with your hotel concierge for advice on the restaurant scene.  Enjoy!
